y'all know those chocolate figures that are always sold during christmas? they're hollow and usually shaped like santa?

i dunno man there's just something upsetting about hollowed chocolate. like i don't even like chocolate on its own, but hollowed chocolate is just worse, especially since they're messy to eat. cuz you gotta break it off with your fingers, which give off heat, and now you've got chocolate on your fingers

and anyways the worst offender of this i've now found is a hollowed chocolate figure, but from kinder. y'know, the kinder egg company. chocolate eggs filled with a milk creme. i was kind of hoping for the same thing, but nope. hollow just the same. the milk creme bit comes in with the inner part of the shell being covered with it. which, very obviously, sucks ass

i'm still gonna eat it cuz i don't like wasting food, and i have nothing else to eat, but like who thought this up?

i've now officially found someone that has me blocked on tumblr and not the other way around

cuz i'm a blocking maniac, i'll block based on vibes alone. but i've now found someone who possibly has me blocked. now i'm the blocked

i genuinely don't care why (if i'm even correct in my assumption), but it's mostly the fact that they're the partner of an artist i follow so like- slightly awkward but whatever lol

although i just had the thought maybe their blog is private- like i dunno why the artist would've tagged them but- that could also maybe be a possibility-

12:43pm - a couple days late on christmas, but that's cuz the past couple'a days i've been feeling kinda crummy so i didn't have the energy to write anything. but other than that christmas was pretty fun :3 not much to say besides the presents i'd gotten:

obviously i did get more stuff than this that i just didn't take photos of. i got a space themed napstablook pin, a chara sweater, and coming february i'll be getting slay the princess so... expect some annoying blog posts about that cuz i haven't been able to shut up about it for a year, and i think it'll just get worse when the game is finally in my hands :D

other than that i'll also be getting skyrim cuz my memére gave me a gift card, i just gotta wait for it to get delivered

in terms of games i currently have, i decided to use that gift card to also get shovel knight: shovel of hope! i was looking for a game that'll hopefully tide me over until january 1st (when skyrim will be delivered), and shovel knight looked like a fun time. and it is, i love it so far! i'm currently at he third part of the map, having just started it with polar knight and the stranded ship. the ice physics are obviously a lil wonky but... they're ice physics, what else do you expect from them? thank god it's not wind physics i'm looking at you celeste

but in general i really don't have any complaints. like i'm not saying absolute flawless masterpiece, but there's nothing glaringly wrong with the game. i do wish there was more food scattered about/a way to heal outside of the chalice, but hey, it's not an easy game and i knew that going in. i'm not gonna say the game's bad when the errors are all my own, y'know?

i will... definitely not be getting all of the achievements. some of them are to beat certain things hitless/deathless, there's a speedrun achievement. yeah, no, i'd like to keep my sanity, maybe some other day lololol

only other thing to note is i'm gonna be dogsitting for my friend's mom on sunday. said friend is away for christmas, and his mom's decided to go do something for new year's on sunday, so i'm gonna be watching over the dog for a bit. i wouldn't say i'm excited for it, i'm not a dog person (only reason i'm agreeing is cuz i've known this dog since he was a puppy so i trust him a bit), but i'll be getting paid since she always pays me whenever i've watched over the dog. so i should say i'm excited for the mini shopping trip i'll be getting out of this XD hoping to get a mini backpack cuz i'm tired of using my big satchel just to carry around my ipad and phone if i'm just going over to my friend's house. hoping to also get a wallet, and this set of earmuffs that had bunny ears attached as well but those are second priorities

9:05am - cuz i've seen a couple people playing it, i decided to get tcg pocket, because i'm a sucker for both pokémon and thing other people are doing-

i've collected a couple cool cards so far! obviously my collection isn't all that big, i literally just started an hour ago, but i've collected a couple of neat ones so far! honestly i'm looking to just complete the pack pokédexes in some way, the cool looking cards aren't my top priority. but i'm not gonna get upset at getting any, they look neat, especially with the psuedo 3D effect! :D

hopefully in the future i can collect actual pokémon cards, but considering that requires having actual money, this is a pretty good alternative. and i'm guessing the more levels i have, the more types of packs i can open, since at level 2 i can only open the mythical island and genetic apex packs. either that or, because the game is fairly new, they only have two booster packs available at the moment and they'll keep adding more later on. at the very least the dex goes up to sword and shield since i got a chewtle, so maybe there'll be scarlet and violet pokémon as well in the packs!

i dunno, i'm just happy to collect pokémon cards, even if they're only digital :3

originally i was just gonna wait until i got a proper laptop (as i'm currently working with a chromebook unfortunately), but i got tired of not having a little blog space to rant about everything and anything. like sure tumblr was a good substatute, but even there i'm not gonna blog about some things that i would here. so here we are :3

in a bit i'm gonna write up my thoughts about the sonic 3 movie, but for now... i maybe eep-

also yes, all the pompompurine images will get replaced. i'm planning on drawing stuff for this website, but considering my work ethic when it comes to art it's gonna take a bit. like my plan is to make everything that isn't the background and the lil favicons on the side bar original art. but for now, enjoy pompompurin :3

2:59pm - okay, i guess "in a bit" became "several hours later", didn't mean for that to happen. i have no defense behinds rtgame decided to stream (and for whatever reason browser twitch HATES when i have it on in the background) and then i decided to play stardew valley for a few hours (i'm trying to fully complete every giftable villager's gift log).

but, anyways! i'm gonna try and have this be where my miscellanious big thoughts get posted (or my lil complaints about who knows what). or maybe i'll have this be a daily diary of sorts. but like i mentioned, i went to see sonic the hedgehog 3 yesterday. and i have THOUGHTS that i gotta get out.

so, small probably unimportant context, but i wasn't really a sonic fan before seeing the movies. i didn't dislike the games, mind you. but i'd never played any of them myself, and my only real experience was other people just talking about them, and only in the past year or two the snapcube fandubs. in fact it wasn't until those fandub that i really saw any sonic game footage (and, well, those are fandubs. i think the only sonic games i've truly seen in full are sonic frontiers and then shadow the hedgehog a bit after).

so you'd think that i, who has very little knowledge outside of the bad games, wouldn't really care that much about the sonic movies. simply considering them fun, but nothing more.

um- guess who got grossly autistic over the sonic movies-

obviously, sonic 1 is solid, a good jumping in point, some silly fun. sonic 2 is 100x better, simply because tails is in it, and we get to see sonic and tails friendship/brother... ship. what's the brother bond version of friendship-

and that leads into sonic 3, with the coolest and probably saddest character of the franchise shadow the hedgehog and his backstory!

and yeah, i liked this one :3 shadow's the coolest in my opinion, how could i NOT like the movie all about him???

however... that does not mean i don't have some nitpicks and little complaints about the movie, specifically about how they went about putting his backstory into the movie.

now there are some changes i really don't mind. for example, maria not being directly shot by G.U.N., cuz it's a kid's movie. i mean... you can meme about paramount showing a child getting gunned down, but did anyone REALLY think that they'd put it in the movie? i'm fine with it being a misfire causing an explosion. she's still in the movie, she still dies, i'm not gonna get pissy about how specifically she gets killed. also her and shadow's friendship makes me weep-

i'm... also kinda back and forth on if i don't mind shadow not being created by gerald robotnik? i dunno, like on one hand it isn't the BIGGEST issue i have, but it's still like...

it honestly kinda connects with my biggest rewriting gripe, and that is the movie not putting a bigger emphasis on how shitty and fucked up G.U.N. was with this whole situation. they're the reason why shadow was created (they had asked gerald to basically make a super bioweapon for them, which gerald did his best to not to do while still kinda complying, cuz he was a cool dude who wanted to better humanity), and when they deemed the project "too dangerous" they literally gunned down everyone but shadow and gerald to make sure no one knew of the project - they're literally why maria dies. and it feels like the movie kinda glosses over that? like i know it's a kid's movie, i literally just said that's why i don't mind maria not being shot. but it just feels like they weren't allowed to show that this government agency was actually really fucking corrupt and scummy.

which... yeah they probably weren't allowed cuz of paramount tbh-

also yeah, why did they almost completely get rid of gerald's involvement in project shadow and WHY he wants to kill humanity?? well- okay, no, they do show why he wants to kill humanity. but even though they kinda show in the movie that gerald went crazy cuz his granddaughter was killed, he was an extremely grey character in the games. he wanted to better humanity and cure maria's illness, it's why the ark was created and why she was even there to begin with (because apparently the lack of gravity helped slow down the progression of her illness or something like that?), but he was locked away by G.U.N. and eventually found out maria had been killed he genuinely lost it and started to plan for humanity's downfall so they could feel his grief.

and like... yeah, like i said, they kinda showed that gerald lost it after maria was killed... it was without all of the character development that he was a genius scientist genuinely trying to help humanity. he just feels a bit one note in the movie, and as much as i love jim carrey as an actor, i think him playing gerald kinda didn't help with that. gerald was more cartoony evil scientist than a genuinely brilliant and kind man driven to insanity and revenge due to grief.

i dunno, maybe this is where i get nitpicky? like i guess it's fine for a kid's movie but... i dunno, i wish they had shown more of how involved with project shadow (he was literally the head scientist)

(also getting rid of the ark and making it a mini death ray instead of a full space station feels weird but i think i'll GENUINELY be getting into nitpicky territory with that. but hopefully mentioning that it's weird they changed it from shadow being created by gerald to shadow coming from somewhere in space via an asteroid is less nitpicky)

but hey they pissed on the moon so 10/10, can't wait to see amy and metal sonic in the next movie

okay that sounds kinda sarcastic but i am genuinely excited to see amy rose and how they characterize her. and despite my issues with how they changed shadow's backstory i did have a fun time watching it. call me easily ammused but i did giggle kick my feet when shadow became super shadow :3

3:56pm - ooooooooooo if you thought i couldn't get nitpicky before-

does anyone else raise an eyebrow when a youtuber (or even just a creative with a membership of some sort to support them financially) mentions their memberships/patreons and be all like "it's only $1! that's nothing!". or sometimes it's $2 or $3.

like, sure, to YOU it's nothing. to someone else it could be the dollar that gets them food for the day, i dunno.

absolutely nothing wrong with mentioning ways that people can help financially support you. but maybe don't do it by trying to say the cost "is nothing"?

eh, i'm probably just overthinking. like i'm not upset, i just raise an eyebrow when someone says that.
